The panels of various thickness could be used either as panels or scantlings of different cross section by ripping according to requirement, thus reducing the wastage. Introduction of solid lumber panels eliminate the problem of handling various cross sections of timber scan- tlings and panels of different lengths. This concept, which is popular in Europe and Japan, is being promoted by ATI in India to result lower wastage of mate- rial,considerable time and labour saving, allowing better architectural expressions. The Agrowood panels from ATI are produced by a process of finger jointing small pieces and edge gluing, in various sizes and thicknesses under strict quality control,for different end-uses.

The thickness of panel could be from 18mm to 100mm and at present , the standard thicknesses are 15mm,18mm, 24mm,30mm 36mm and 48mm.
